About the Band:
The Eastern Iowa Brass Band is a British-style brass band located in Solon, Iowa. The band plays ten to twenty concerts per year. The band also competes in regional and national brass band competitions.
Other than the director, all members are volunteers.
Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 7:30pm – 9:30pm in the Solon Community Center band room.
About the Openings:
The current band membership is quite diverse, with some members having played with the band for over 30 years, to others who have recently joined. Open positions occur due to schedule conflicts or seasonal availability. We hope to add additional players to have a full cohort of players for each performance.
About the Audition:
You will play a required piece (Knight Templar – see links below registration form), and asked to sight-read two additional passages that will be given to you at the audition. The audition process will not take long ~ 10 minutes. You will be notified of the Audition Panel’s decision within 48 hours of the completion of the auditions.
The majority of our music is written in Bb Treble Clef or Eb Treble Clef. Trumpet fingerings are used on all parts. If you play a ‘C’ Tuba or an ‘F’ Tuba, you will need to understand how to transpose properly.
To audition, fill-out the contact information form below or contact Todd Bransky at 319-350-6744 (call or text) or email to email@example.com. Please leave a message with the following information:

It is highly encouraged to arrange an audition time in advance, though musicians are permitted to attend auditions without a scheduled time.
