The Eastern Iowa Brass Band will give a free hour long concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in La Crosse’s Riverside Park.  The concert is the culminating event of an American School Band Directors Association conference at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  The concert will include a guest appearance by conductor retired Col. John Bourgeois of the President’s Own Marine Band.

The ASBDA, founded in 1953, is an extremely prestigious national organization for band directors of the highest quality. The primary goal of the ASBDA is to promote the concert band as the focus of an educational curriculum which teaches music as artistic expression. ASBDA draws together the finest minds and best teachers nationally for the purpose of helping influence the direction and furthering the cause of good music in the nation’s schools.  Time: 7:00pm.
