Linn County/Cedar Rapids – On Thursday, June 12th The Salvation Army will be presenting an Outdoor Concert & Auction at NewBo City Market from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. The silent auction will open at 5:00pm and the Eastern Iowa Brass Band will begin performing at 6:00pm on the outside stage. The indoor market vendors will also be open throughout the evening to guests.
The silent auction will include items such as 6 nights in Tim Dwight’s condo in Hawaii, a suite at a Kernel’s game, party package to Planet X, a tour of the new Geonetric office and lunch with CEO Eric Engelmann, a home maintenance package including gutter cleaning and paint, and so much more. The event is free to attend, but donations will be accepted in the Red Kettle.
The well-known Salvation Army Christmas Campaign raises approximately 40% of the annual operating budget. Fundraisers like this Outdoor Concert & Auction help raise the remaining amount still needed in order to keep meeting the needs of those hurting in our community throughout the entire year. This money goes towards helping families pay rent, our free community meal, supplemental food boxes, youth programs, case management and so much more.
