It’s time for Lisbon Sauerkraut Days! The old Lincoln Highway will be filled with the smell of brats and sauerkraut in the air!, The streets will be packed with rides, carnival games, community bands, chicken chip bingo, bathtub races, street dances, and good time family entertainment!
The Eastern Iowa Brass Band will be part of that family entertainment on Friday, August 8th starting at 6:45pm. The band will perform a one-hour free concert on Main Street in downtown Lisbon, IA. Bring your lawn chairs, your kids, your family members, and your enthusiasm for this very entertaining program!
The Eastern Iowa Brass Band will feature their “Summer Showcase” concert on Saturday, August 2nd at 7:30pm in the First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. The concert will feature the summer’s favorite musical numbers as selected by our audiences and band members alike.

Linn County/Cedar Rapids – On Thursday, June 12th The Salvation Army will be presenting an Outdoor Concert & Auction at NewBo City Market from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. The silent auction will open at 5:00pm and the Eastern Iowa Brass Band will begin performing at 6:00pm on the outside stage. The indoor market vendors will also be open throughout the evening to guests.
The silent auction will include items such as 6 nights in Tim Dwight’s condo in Hawaii, a suite at a Kernel’s game, party package to Planet X, a tour of the new Geonetric office and lunch with CEO Eric Engelmann, a home maintenance package including gutter cleaning and paint, and so much more. The event is free to attend, but donations will be accepted in the Red Kettle.
The well-known Salvation Army Christmas Campaign raises approximately 40% of the annual operating budget. Fundraisers like this Outdoor Concert & Auction help raise the remaining amount still needed in order to keep meeting the needs of those hurting in our community throughout the entire year. This money goes towards helping families pay rent, our free community meal, supplemental food boxes, youth programs, case management and so much more.

The purpose of this event is to bring families to the Mount Vernon / Lisbon area to enjoy chocolate, music, activities for children and shopping.
MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group announced that the 5th Annual Mount Vernon Chocolate Stroll will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The free music and chocolate event invites guests to stroll down Mount Vernon’s historic First Street where participating businesses and chocolate vendors, located inside participating businesses, will offer chocolate and chocolate products for sample and sale.
Music this year will begin at 10 a.m. at the First Street Community Center (221 First St. NE, Mount Vernon). Music highlights will include the Eastern Iowa Brass Band at 11 a.m.
The EIBB will perform a free concert at the Hoover Presidential Library auditorium at 2pm. Invite your friends and family to enjoy this wonderful concert! Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the comfort of the air-conditioned Hoover Auditorium.
